No comments:

From Malleus:

Last poster of the year, this is the last one.
It’s the Malleus version of the Amanda Palmer with the Boston Pops new year’s eve.
We’ve printed 100 copies with the same colours (we loved them) and we’ve added a iridescent sparkling ink on the snow and fur.

Posters will be on sale starting from the 2nd of January 2010 on our webstore.
Then we’ll pack all our instruments and we’ll drive to Roma where we’ll record the new Ufomammut album at Locomotore studio.
The music is done and we’re very very happy about it.
Well, sometimes it sounds confusing but You should know that 2 of Malleus are 2 of Ufomammut too… :-)
I’ll give You more details soon.

Songwriter Sues Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder for Changing 'Hard Sun' Lyrics

No comments:

Rocker Eddie Vedder is fighting legal action from a Canadian singer/songwriter for changing the lyrics to a song he recorded for the "Into the Wild" soundtrack. The Pearl Jam star recorded Gordon Peterson's tune "Hard Sun" in 2007 for Sean Penn's hit film, but Peterson, who originally wrote the track in 1987, wasn't happy when he heard the finished version - and realized the rock icon had altered the lyrics.

Peterson is now suing Vedder and has filed papers in New York's Manhattan federal court. The suit states, "Vedder altered certain key lyrics of 'Hard Sun'... eroding the integrity of the composition." Executives at Universal Music are also targeted in the lawsuit after allegedly licensing the track without his permission.

Peterson is demanding all profits from the "acts of infringement". However, Vedder's lawyer Gregory Clarick insists Peterson has no grounds for complaint. He tells the New York Post, "We don't see any basis for a copyright infringement claim."

Brian Setzer Orchestra at The Warfield Poster by Chuck Sperry

No comments:

Another instant classic by Chuck. Dont hesitate on this one.

Here is what Chuck has to say about it:

The Firehouse Goldenvoice Series is getting mighty close to 100 posters as the end of the year approaches. I designed this one in a 1940’s Film Noir style (complete with venetian shade shadows in the background) – a nice companion to my Moby Poster from earlier this year.

Nice thing, I got to design this on my new computer. Of course the drawing was done in the old fashioned way – with good old fashioned brush and ink. The new computer helped to put this all together. It just means less time to wait while changing my mind about colors or shapes – and of course I can watch old movies while designing to get inspired – or video chat with Chris Shaw (which just makes me laugh). So just like Brian Setzer Orchestra this poster is a mix of new and old. I’ll be posting some photos of this when I get them back from the studio later tonight or tomorrow morning so stay tuned. The metallic gold is very heavy and runs under all the colors to make very beautiful tints and shimmers.

Firehouse Goldenvoice Series Number 86
Edition of 150
5 colors on archival cream paper
23″ x 35″
Signed and Numbered

Paul Waston Print by Obey Giant Shepard Fairey

No comments:

From Obey:

The mission of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is to defend ocean wildlife worldwide. Shepard did a portrait of founder Paul Watson that will be available as a print on 12/17/09 at Random. The print comes in two different colorway, Light Blue and Dark Blue. Both are Editions of 450, 18 x 24, Signed and Numbered by Shepard and Capt. Paul Waston. $55 each. A portion of the profits will go to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. http://www.seashepherd.org/

Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Our mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.

Sea Shepherd uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately-balanced ocean ecosystems, Sea Shepherd works to ensure their survival for future generations.

Paul Watson also appears in a fantastic documentary about the illegal slaughter of dolphins called “The Cove”. “The Cove” demonstrates the difficulty of untangling the corrupt relationship between corporate interests and government. Brave people with strong convictions risked a lot to capture the footage shot in Japan. The film has a great appeal in the drama of the mission and the sympathy we feel for the highly intelligent dolphins, but the abuses represented could apply to any number of situations where money and power subdue ethics. I went to the theater opening weekend to see it and there were not many people there. Movies like this are very important and need our support. Please check it out. http://thecovemovie.com/ and http://www.seashepherdartshow.com
