Behind the Peel art print by Robert Bowen on sale

No comments:

Robert recently was part of the Warhol Reimagined: The New Factory show curated by, the appropriately named, Warholian. The idea behind the show? “artists were given 20×26″ panels and asked to select from a selection of over 60 of Warhol’s work, chosen for their aesthetic power and importance in the artist’s repertoire. The artists were then asked to re-imagine the chosen work in their own contemporary style, taking on the challenging task of translating Warhol’s timeless imagery into the 21st century vernacular.

The print is 17×22 and a limited edition of 50 Printed with Archival Inks on Acid Free Velvet Cotton Rag. Each print is hand signed and numbered and available HERE

David Soukup Bumblebee Sunrise Art Print on sale today

1 comment:

David Soukup's Bumblebee Sunrise is a feast of anachronisms - the most praiseworthy of visual jewels and the ones used far too carelessly in contemporary art today. In this instance, however, every jewel is placed correctly and with a sense of balance. The rotary phone, the signage, the building, and (most of all) the bewitching female with her gaze framed perfectly by styled hair - all of these elements combine into a periscope view of mid-60's to early 70's (Note: OUR assumption) and make the entirety a wonderful flight of line and color.

All prints are Signed & Numbered by the Artist and come with a Certificate of Authenticity from 1xRUN.

15 x 15.5 Hand Embellished Giclee on 330gsm 100% Archival Cotton Paper

MARS-1 Infinite Tapestry Blacklight Flocked Art Print

No comments:

Crank up that blacklight you've been keeping in your closet and bust out that vinyl version of Pink Floyd's "Animals" that you've had in storage and let the party begin. Dazzle your friends with the latest collaboration between Electric Works and MARS-1, Infinite Tapestry.

This limited edition poster brings back the best of underground poster-making from 1970s. The rich velvety black is just that: virtually the whole print is covered in black flocking. Underneath that is a layer of UV-reactive fluorescent day-glo inks. Each print is signed by MARS-1. Tack it up in your dorm room, frame it for your study-this print is guaranteed to elevate the look of any wall it's hung on.

Each 32" x 25" poster is signed by the artist and due to the hand printing of the silkscreen each one varies just a little from the other making every one unique.

This is a limited-edition signed and numbered blacklight poster. The color background was applied with a process called "Split Fountain" in which all 5 colors are put on the screen and mixed into the gradient in one pull as the squeegee goes across the screen. Each pull mixes the inks a little differently so each print is unique. The fluorescent inks are UV reactive so the poster has one look in the daylight and totally different colors under blacklight.

About the print:

Infinite Tapestry, 2011
Hand Silkscreen, Fluorescent UV Inks with Black Velvet Flocking
Image Size: 32" x 25"
Edition of 140, plus proofs.

WORLD PREMIERE EXCLUSIVE Ken Taylor's Eddie Vedder Adelaide Australia Poster

No comments:

Tonight's poster for Eddie Vedder's show in Adelaide Australia is done by Australian artist and one of my favorites Ken Taylor. Be sure to click on the image to enlarge it, Ken sent over a massive image and it is just beautiful.

Ken describes his how he created the design:

The thinking behind this piece was inspired by the lyrics rise up and change my direction magnetically - I started to research animals the migrate via earths magnetic fields and stingrays seemed the most appropriate to eddie given his love of all things oceanic its a 4 colour 12 x 36 with metallic gold on a bone speckeltone french paper.

There will not be any signed ones for sale due to the logistical nightmare of shipping a 100 posters to Australia. PostersandToys.com will have numbered ones for sale soon and PearlJam.com will have unnumbered for sale in the future. And you can check out the dates for Ed's solo tour in the US as well.

Big thank to you Ken for sharing the image and info, be sure to check out his work at http://www.kentaylor.com.au/

Tohru Patrick Awa Anonymous Hug Art Print for Japan

No comments:

How Tohru Patrick Awa designed the print :

The basic idea was to draw miscellaneous figures with their hands holding each other as tight as they could at the moment of reunion, making a sphere-like shape together, which I also hoped to represent connection and compassion I have received from all over the world. And even though this might be a little "one" to start with in front of massive damage, hopefully together we can become "ONE" to make a difference.

“In the aftermath of the ongoing tragedy in Japan, I was so anxious that I had a hard time focusing on painting. Although I originally would have liked to make something more uplifting or encouraging, the event was simply too devastating, with the death toll of tens of thousands and millions suffering right now.
This piece is dedicated to all of the survivors and to those that have lost their lives.”

100% of the proceeds from the sale will go to Give2Asia. We encourage you to learn more about how artists are helping Japan at Give2Asia. Process photos can be found on the 1xRun Blog.

***Give2Asia is a US 501 (c) (3) public charity, to which contributions are tax deductible (Federal Employer Identification #94-3373670).

All prints are Signed & Numbered by the Artist and come with a Certificate of Authenticity from 1xRUN.
